In conclusion, chariot racing was one of the most popular olympic sport. Chariot racing was also one of the most dangerous sports ever. Most chariot racers died young from getting dragged to death. Chariot racers usually carried a knife with them just in case if they get dragged, they can cut the rope off their hands. Chariot racers usually got injured, by having another chariot entering their lane, that usually caused a collision. Chariot races were 7 laps long. Chariot races took place in the hippodrome. The hippodrome could seat 100,000 people. Thats bigger than most arenas nowadays! The hippodrome had different post marking where the coming up turns were. The best horse is usually the Funalis. The funalis was the horse on the extreme left. This horse was made mostly for speed and agility. Chariot racing uplifted a strong, enthusiastic, rowdy and wild crowd. Sometimes the crowd would get so into it, that after the race, the opposing crowd would get into fights. I hope all of this information was very useful, and fun to read. Adios, and have a great life!
